Whispers round the roots of willows,

wallows well in rocky hollows,

washes white the wide-stride weirs,

wades to waterfalls and rears

its rumbling rage into a roar

of writhing ivory before

it runs away - waves farewell with a

wink of whirlpool. Wily river.
