Ruth Teetzel Visit

We were visited this week by Ruth Teetzel from Canada. She is the great-niece of Lt. Harry Teetzel one of the airmen who are commemorated on the plaque in All Saints Church Bishop Burton. We showed her around the church and she was also in Beverley visiting St. Mary's, the Minster and the cemetery where her great-uncle is buried.

We were able to share with her the results of our research and she showed us some more photographs and letters that had been received by her family. One was from the Revd. W A Pearman and two others were from Letitia Coulson who was the matron of the cottage hospital in Beverley where Harry was cared for after his air accident. We discovered also that she may have been called "Elsie" and that she went on to work at the Yorkshire School for the Blind in York. If this triggers any memories, do please get in touch.
